Presentation

The UIA 2021 Congress will take place in Madrid on October 28, 29 and 30. It is time to meet face-to-face again! This Congress promises to be an unprecedented experience: a small-scale event which will still have the highest quality expert panels and many familiar aspects that we have come to cherish each year, all in the heartland of Spanish culture and hospitality.

We are planning a hybrid Congress that will allow for both attendance in person in Madrid and virtual participation for those who are unable to join us. We will do our best to design a Congress for the needs of the entire UIA community.

Attendee health and safety remains our top priority, and we will continue to monitor the Covid-19 situation closely. We are making every effort to ensure that the Congress service providers create a safe environment for everyone.

For more information on the health and safety regulations that are in place at the Congress venue (Riu Plaza España Hotel), please visit: https://riu.cld.bz/RIU-COVID19-Health-Protocol

ENTRY FORMALITIES

Nationals of EU Member States and Swiss nationals do not need a visa for stays of less than three months. However, they must be in possession of a valid National Identity Card or Passport.

Passport holders from countries other than EU Member States or Switzerland should consult the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, which lists the countries whose citizens do not require a visa for short stays. If, on the contrary, you are a citizen of a country that is subject to the visa obligation, please contact the Spanish embassy or consulate in your country of residence in order to obtain a visa:
http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Portal/es/ServiciosAlCiudadano/InformacionParaExtranjeros/Documents/listapaisesvisado.pdf

We strongly advise those who require a visa to proceed with their visa application as early as possible.

In the context of the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic, every traveler who wishes to enter Spain must take into account that, in addition to complying with the general entry requirements in Spain, exceptional measures restricting mobility are currently in force in order to contain the spread of Covid-19. As a result, all travellers, regardless of the circumstances of their trip, are strongly recommended to keep informed before their trip about the restrictions adopted by the Ministry of the Interior on border crossing (interior.gob.es), as well as the sanitary measures adopted by the Ministry of Health (mscbs.gob.es).

Health Control Form
All persons travelling to Spain from another country must complete the Health Control Form associated with their trip. When travelling by air, this can be done via the web spth.gob.es or the app Spain Travel Health-SpTH (available for Android and iOS). When travelling by sea, this can be done through the following link: spthm.puertos.es. After finishing the form, you will get a QR code that you will have to present both at the time of boarding and upon your arrival in Spain at the health controls. At the present time it is not mandatory to present any form if the trip to Spain is by land.

Additional requirements: EU Digital Covid Certificate and other certificates
From June 7, 2021, if you come from a country/area considered at risk for Covid-19, you must present a certificate or document certifying vaccination, an active infection diagnostic test (AIDT) or recovery from Covid-19. These certificates will be different if they have been issued in a country of the European Union (EU Digital Covid Certificate) or in a third country. The list of high-risk countries /areas, as well as the criteria used to define them, will be reviewed every seven days and their update will be published on this page.
